Appearance:
it is colorless or white crystalline powder. It has bitter taste. Relative density is 2.662. Melting point is 1069ºC. Easily soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and aceton, pH is 5.5-8.5 in 5% aqueous solution.
Application:
It is the basic raw material for making various potassium salts such as potassium carbonate and potassium persulfat. 
The glass industry is used as a settling agent. The dyestuff industry is used as an intermediate. The perfume industry is used as an auxiliary agent. 
The pharmaceutical industry is also used as a laxative and for the treatment of soluble barium salt poisoning. 
Potassium sulfate is a common potash fertilizer in agriculture.
